Leveraging Our Expertise as a Steel Engineering Company to Contribute to the Realization of a Better Society

Since our foundation in 1939, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing steel-based products and services that support society in responding to changes in the environment. Today, sales of our high-value-added products—such as high-tensile threaded rebars (Neji-Tetsu-Con) and joints—account for approximately 70% of our total sales. Our environmental recycling business using electric furnaces has also developed into one of our key business pillars. We are, therefore, steadily evolving as a company capable of delivering solutions. In light of this, we established the following corporate slogan in 2014 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of our founding: "Contributing to the development of the construction industry and to environmental recycling."

With a view to achieving sustainable growth, we will continue to expand within the Japanese market and to develop business lines in rebar-related areas. Through joint research with universities and the development of new projects, we will further expand our steel business by enhancing our ability to provide solutions to the challenges facing the construction industry, which forms our main customer base.

We are also developing our business in new overseas markets. The local subsidiary that we established in South Korea in October 2013 is delivering strong results, including the supplying of products for high-rise construction projects. In July 2015, we established our Overseas   Division to accelerate our business development in Taiwan and Singapore.

In the environmental recycling business, we are also exploring new business areas by utilizing electric furnaces—one of our most valuable assets—to develop lines of business in the Japanese market.

As our corporate slogan demonstrates, we are committed to realizing a vision for new cities and communities that supports the development of the construction industry through total engineering services while continuing to contribute to the realization of a recycling-based society.
